EASY ACCESS TO HIGH PERFORMANCE
COMPUTING
FOR WHOLE GENOME SEQUENCE ANALYSES
The Calculation Engine (CE) is your easy access to a high-performance computing (HPC) environment for doing calculation-intensive tasks, including de novo assembly and whole genome multi-locus sequence typing (wgMLST) allele calling, for which it contains an integrated nomenclature service. Additionally, the CE will facilitate for you: reference mapping for SNP analyses, resistance & virulence gene prediction and genome annotation.
The Calculation Engine runs on a powerful computer cluster, in the cloud, but can also be installed on premise, i.e. on your own server or a private cloud environment, or even run on your local PC!

*Minimal system requirements for the Local PC-Based Calculation Engine
Processor: Intel Core i5, 2 GHz or higher compatible, 64-bit architecture - Operating system: Windows 10 - Memory: 8 GB or higher - Hard disk: 2 GB of free disk space (application files only) - Display: WXGA+ (1440 x 900) or higher resolution monitor, True Color (32 bit) - A full HD display (1920 x 1080) or similar and a solid state hard drive (SSD) are highly recommended.
Note: a more powerful system shall be required should you want to make use of the local computation infrastructure: not only a more powerful processing unit (i7 or better) but especially a minimum of 32 GB of RAM memory and a much larger disk storage for data downloads and temporary file storage (48 GB recommended but depending entirely on usage).
